Pineapple Poker - Hold'em's Cousin

It's Texas holdem, with a twist. At least that's the way you would see Pineapple Poker described on a drinks menu.

Pineapple poker can be a tasty model of Hold'em in which gamblers every single receive three hole cards instead of two. This obviously increases the odds that a player could land a great quality starting hand. So, you can expect to see a lot more gamblers in every single pot. The average succeeding hands are stronger in Pineapple than they are in Holdem.

In Pineapple Poker, gamblers don't keep all three of their hole cards during the entire hand. Instead, they discard one of their hole cards at a designated point in the hand.

Following receiving their cards, gamblers engage in a round of wagering. Now comes a choice. Several gamblers play the casino game using this point in the hand to determine which hole card to discard. Discarding your additional hole card before the flop is how to play the far more basic version of the game of Pineapple.

But, since you're spicing things up by playing something other than Hold em in the initial place, you can choose to wager on the far more common model of Pineapple Poker referred to as Insane Pineapple. In this version, which is dealt at a number of of the internet based poker rooms, gamblers maintain their added hole card until immediately after the flop is dealt.

Once the flop is dealt and the following wagering round is completed, Ridiculous Pineapple gamblers discard their extra hole card.

For both the basic and the insane versions of Pineapple Poker, the rest of the hand is bet exactly like Holdem.

This derivative of Texas hold em offers more action, using the familiar gameplay. Players can use any variety of hole cards, including none, to produce a hand. The betting rules are the same, and should you play Texas hold'em, you already know most of the technique required in Pineapple Poker.

Except wait, there's much more! Unlike Texas holdem, there's a common high-low (generally referred to as eight or better) model of the game as well. In high/low games, gamblers have a chance to win half of the pot by presenting the ideal qualifying lower hand at the table.

What's a qualifying reduced hand? It is one with 5 cards with diverse ranks, all below eight (hence the name 8 or much better).
The lowest qualifying lower hand wins half of the pot. So, players have nearly double the odds of succeeding.

Reduced hand ties are broken by reading the cards as one five digit amount, with the highest digits initial. Lowest variety wins. For instance, a hand of a,2,4,5,7 would be read as 75,421. A hand of a,3,four,5,six will be read as 65,431, and would win in a tie-breaker.

Ridiculous Pineapple eight or Better is not just several exotic homegame variety of poker, it's also dealt at many of the online poker rooms.

If you desire to liven up your home games, consider adding a couple of hands of Nuts Pineapple to the mix. It's a break from the similar ol' very same ol', but since it's holdem-based gamblers don't need to learn several new rules and strategies to get pleasure from it.
